Feudal system
King or Emperor was the highest feudal lord
Tenants were splitted in under or over tenants
over were higher noblemen (dukes,bishops,earls/counts)
over tenants promised loyalty,obedience and military support to the feudal lord
under tenants were lower noblemen (knights or barons)
under tenants provided troops in cases of war to over tenants and they got land that they gave to the peasants
peasant were the lowest in the feudal system
peasant got field from under tenants to deliver dues
dues were raw material like grain

At the age of 7 they started to train wrestling, strenghtend their body, ride horses, learned to fight with spear or sword and read, write, sing, dance and they get manners.
01.01.1400Squire
At the age of fifteen or sixteen they get a squire. Squires assisted a knight who could have several squires. They had to dress the knight in the morning, serving all the knights meals, caring for the knights horses and clean the knights armour and weapons
01.01.1415Night before knight ceremony
The squire is dressed in a white tunic and red robes. Then he fasted and prayed all night. The priest blessed the future of the knight's sword and laid it on the ground of the chapel or church. Before dawn of the night the knight took a bath to show that he was pure. After that he was dressed in his best clothes. At dawn the priest heard the young man's confession
01.01.1420Knight ceremony
It took place in front of the family , friends and the nobility. The squire knelt in front of the lord,who tapped the squire lightly on each shoulder with his sword and proclaimed him a knight . After the ceremony a great feast followed with music and dancing.
02.01.1420Tournaments
-got developed in 10th century
-knights wanted to show or train their skills
-it changed from millitary exercise to sport competition
-they could be attended by anyone
-there were wodden stands decorated with colourful penants for the nobles
-favourite activities at the tournament(melee and the joust)
-in both of the activities many knights were injured and killed
melee:
-team sport
-each team coloured flags on their backs
-opposite team tried to knock of the flags with clubs and blunt swords
joust:
-was a combat between two knights
-the knights were seperated by a low wodden fence
-the two knights started on their horses,holding lances
-goal was to knock of the opposite knight from the horse
